Ryan
Cantwell

Ryan Cantwell is a music director and supervisor, as well as a conductor, pianist, coach and music producer. His Broadway credits are Waitress, 1776, Finding Neverland, Pippin, Real Women Have Curves, and Bat Out of Hell at New York City Center. He led the first national tours of 1776, Bat Out of Hell, Waitress, Finding Neverland and Pippin, and was the Associate MD for La Cage aux Folles.

Overseas, he has music supervised fully translated Broadway replicas of Waitress in Japan, Mexico City, Canada and Australia as well as Pippin in Japan and Australia. He has taken 1st National Tours of Pippin to Tokyo, Amsterdam and Toronto; and Finding Neverland to Tokyo and Toronto.

He has a long relationship with the American Repertory Theater, where his credits include Wonder, 1776, Diary of a Tap Dancer, Romeo & Juliet and Dear Everything. His other regional and Off-Broadway work includes Waitress (Ogunquit Playhouse), Babes in Toyland (Pasadena Playhouse), The Golden Toad and Mark (Talking Band), and Liz Swados’ The Nomad at La MaMa.

For screen, he worked on the CBS Jim Henson special at St. Paul’s Cathedral and on Race with Gloria Allred. As a music producer, his credits include A Helluva Life (George Hamilton), A Brass Act (Michelle Dowdy) and So Good (Alexa Green).
